It's been a few months since I had a Kenya in the lineup, which is way too long. This classic double washed coffee from the Rutuma Farmers Cooperative Society on Mount Kenya in the renowned Nyeri region is delicate, sweet and balanced, with a long pleasing finish. The savoury tomato notes so common in recent harvests are absent here - I like the tomato but if you don't, you will probably dig this one.
Suitable for filter or a bright crisp espresso - As with most Kenyas I encourage brewing with relatively hot (98-99c) water to bring out the full spectrum of rich flavours on offer.
* Please let all coffees rest for a minimum of five days after the roast date before brewing. Two to three weeks after roast is much better. Most coffees will begin to fade after three months but this happens slowly if the coffee is properly stored (away from heat, oxygen and direct sunlight) and even 6+ months after roast most lightly roasted coffees will taste great.
