Washed Gesha
Tasting Notes - Honey / Pear / Lemon
Another crisp, sweet Gesha from the Monkaaba group in San Agustin, this one grown by smallholder Daniel Muñoz on his farm Villa Camilla. I am thrilled about the small farms in this region whose Gesha and Pink Bourbon cultivars are bearing fruit over the last few harvests, yielding greater income for the families on the farms and a high quality cup with transparent attributes of the San Agustin terroir. A couple years ago in an industry flooded with experimental processing it seemed next to impossible to find a straight up washed process Gesha, and I'm glad this is turning around thanks to smallholder farmers like Daniel.
Suitable for filter and espresso extractions.
* Please let all coffees rest for a minimum of five days after the roast date before brewing. Two to three weeks after roast is much better. Most coffees will begin to fade after three months but this happens slowly if the coffee is properly stored (away from heat, oxygen and direct sunlight) and even 6+ months after roast most lightly roasted coffees will taste great.
